Over the past couple of weeks we have been working really hard on creating interesting settings to introduce a narrative text.
We have discovered that a great setting includes these details:
– time of day
– exactly where
For example: It was a hot and blustery afternoon. In the playground stood the tree, waving its branches back and forth. Its bark was brown and rough.
So! Now let’s go on a tour of Buckingham Palace. Click here to visit the website. Use your eyes to gather as much detail as you can about one room in the palace. Take note of colours, shapes and sizes. We will be discussing our observations to come up with a whiz-bang description of a castle setting!
